This is my big question - 1. Is the PSP 3000 hackable? I've done tons of internet searches with some stating yes (Magic Memory Stick) and others stating no (deals with the FW). I'm asking this because right now GameStop has them on sale for $149.99 and I don't know what FW they are.
A few more questions to follow -
2. Does the FW really matter on a PSP 3000? 3. What do I need to hack it (if it can be hacked)? 4. Can I turn a regular 8gb Pro Stick Duo into a Magic Memory Stick without buying an actual MMS and if so, how?
1.if it's on FW 5.03 it's hackable, only you have to keep doing the hack every time it's turned on 2.yep see 1 3.dunno yet, still using my launch 1000 model 4.i think the newer programs support them. back then you couldn't go over 2gb
however the PSP3000 is pandora proof ATM. the MMS won't do you much good
But like I said, I saw a program that can create a Magic Memory Stick but I don't know if it would work for a PSP-3000 or would I have to actually buy one.
i bet that's a scam, i've yet to see a psp3000 even turn on with a pandora battery inserted. but who knows if there's some other way to get the 3000 series into service mode
ReverseBlade, did you even check the link? All the PSP-3000 needs is the Magic Memory Stick and not the Pandora Battery but even that requires it to be on a certain firmware. I also found out more about the Magic Memory Stick creator program and it's not for the 3000 series.
which is why i say it's a scam. the whole point of the MMS is a working pandora's battery OR some other way to get the PSP into service mode. & like i said before , there's still no way to boot the PSP3000 into service mode

A Pandora Battery is not required to install the CFW. This will not unbrick a PSP 3000 that is bricked.
This product is slightly different than the 5.01M33-6 that is for the PSP1000 and the PSP2000. The difference is it is installed on the flash of the PSP3000 and not the ROM. This means that every time you turn off the PSP or take the battery out you will need to reinstall the CFW. The install is a quick process. We recommend putting the PSP into standby mode to keep the firmware.
This will work on your PSP3000 as long as your current firmware is 5.03 and lower. If it is higher there is no way to downgrade. This is the only CFW for the PSP3000 and the PSP2000 with a TA88v3 motherboard.
Once you have installed the CFW, you can play games and movies from the memory stick. The larger memory stick you purchase the more games you can save.
If you have a PSP1000 or a PSP2000 and the serial number does NOT start with AB02 then we would recommend the Pandora Battery and Magic memory stick, not this product.
they're selling free software for a profit, they call it a magic memory stick when it's not even a boot code. it's obvious to me they just want to sell the ChickHEN exploit as a MMS
I kind of got that too as I read over it! LOL. That's o.k. though. I didn't get one. Starting to wonder though if they'll ever find a way to hack the PSPgo!
