Thats right you read me here is 3 RPG's that blow away the Final Fantasy games and there all Super Famicom games. Well be it there not as well known but they still blow them away. OK I'll stop teasing you here they are

AH but heres why their not so well known there all in Japanese but don't worry there are English patched versions of all 3.
I have played TALES OF PHANTASIA and BAHAMUT LAGOON, i agree that they are better then most final fantasy, but i have never heard of TREASURES OF THE RUDRAS could you tell me what the game is about?

Thanks for the recommendation. Treasure of The Rudras is one of great RPG games on SNES, I like it. Btw, try Seiken Densetsu 3, I think this is the best RPG I ever played on SNES
I've never been a huge fans of the Final Fantasy series - In my opinion, they're all strongly overrated. My favorite "Final Fantasy" was probably Final Fantasy: Tactics, followed closely by Final Fantasy VI.
I played Bahamut Lagoon and didn't like it. Tales of Phantasia was awesome, and another good one was Star Ocean. I wasn't ever too fond of Chrono Trigger, either (Except for Frog! Frog = Awesome). Seiken Densetsu 3 wasn't bad.
Perhaps the coolest thing to me about Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean was that they are two of the very, very few SNES games with voiced dialogue.
romancing saga 3 for snes and if you liked tales of phantasia there are 2 games came out after it tales of destiny 1 and 2 for psx
star ocean 2 was really good, and romancing saga for ps2 is nicely done elimanting senseless fighting for high xp, the more you fought the harder the game got lol
ogre battle the one like final fantasy tactics not the other one
secret of mana, and part 2 if you can get it translated
dragon quests 5-7 for snes are not to bad you can find pets to fight with you
