I like the Ra-Seru from Legend of Legaia. You can attack with it, so technically it's a weapon, plus it can summon Seru spells. It can even hold a decent conversation when you get lonely. Can a Gunblade talk to you? I thought not.
Well if that's the case then I'd choose the swordians fro Tales of Destiny. I mean, they'd get stronger as I level'd up. Who'd beat a level 99 fighter with a level 99 swordian?
