I'm watching lucky star right now. It's basically Azumanga Daioh with a more childish looking art style. The thing that's different though, I'd say is the jokes. They crack more at video game and anime cliches, and otaku behavior. Azumanga Daioh was more... I'd say real life? The jokes were about cookie boxes, weird Japanese homophones, and other things. I'm about three episodes in and I also find that there's no teacher main characters. For those of you who like dubs over subs, they just leaked a bunch of the episodes in English, YouTube it.
