#1 Make sure you have dc_bios & dc_flash. Place files in the same folder as Chankast.
#2 The Chankast will not read ISO'S. It reads real CD games. You will need Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to "trick" the Chankast into thinking your ISO's are real CD games.
#3 Now after you have downloaded your game and extracted it from the RAR. You will get your ISO . You want CDI ISO's because they are self-boot.
#4 To play it Grasshopper you will do this. First you will use Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to mount your ISO file. Then hit run & start. Set your date & time then play.
#5 For best results go under " Options " then "Configure Video" then check off " Use ZWrite " also check off " Use AlphaTest ZWrite "
#6 The Capcom Hack is strictly for Capcom Games . DUH !!
The emulation may not be perfect with some games.
If you expect perfection then go buy a real Dreamcast !!
#2 Install NullDC & click on the NullDC shortcut. Now 2 screens will pop up. One is the NullDC and the other is a black screen with a bunch of "nerd jibberish". Do not close out the black screen.
#3 The NullDC will read ISO's so Daemon Tools & Alcohol 120% are not required.
#4 Under Options,PowerVR,make sure you have Use "ZWrite" & "Use Alpha Test ZWrite" check marked. If it plays to fast then undo one or both check marks.
#5 To play just select "File" then "Normal Boot" then find your game ISO file and run it. That simple.
#6 Again you want CDI ISO's because they are self-boot.
The emulation may not be perfect with some games.
If you expect perfection then go buy a real Dreamcast !!
Now your set.
********************************************************************************* * Also there are a lot of bad DC ISO's floating around that won't Boot !! Because they weren't ripped properly !! If you come across to one of these bad DC ISO's when you try to run it all you'll get is a music screen on your DC or DC emulator.
So you have to look for DC ISO's in " CDI format " because they are self-boot.
I have a question. When I try playing any game on Chankast, it says it cannot read TOC from E drive. Is the problem with Chankast or with daemon tools?
It could be Daemon Tools (depends on what version of Daemon Tools) but more than likely you have a bad Dreamcast ISO that won't boot. You want CDI ISO's because they are self-boot.
