Starting today, the download quota as well as the download cost requirements will both be active. Every new member will have 20 free downloads to begin with. If they want to download more, they will need to participate in the forum or play the online games earn points to download.
If you have over 50 tokens in a day, you still can't bypass the daily download quota of 10.

This is a trial period of 2 weeks. I will monitor the reactions closely then decide on whether the quota system, the point system or both work better.
am i "rewarded handsomly"? anyway, that seems awefully generous. i foresee alot of spam topics/posts being made before any mod/admin can catch them, and download the roms/isos before we can ban them
hmmm... i think spamming won't be happening or at least it won't be as bad as before since new members has 20 downloads without doing anything and particularly they don't necessarily have to post on the forums. I think playing the online games is easier to earn download tokens. (oh no! the secret is out!) The point system might encourage more forum discussions.
also, you frogot to mention: is it 20 downloads a day, or 20 forever. i kno it's incredibly obvious to you and me, but i'm sure there is some dumbass noobies who can't figure it out
man wats going on here.. i thought the point system was already implemented :S lol i dunno i guess i was wrong lol... i saw this post and i thoght it was from way back when this point system did get implemented.. but is it that it just started working or wat? Excuse me, is your refrigerator running? Because if it is, it probably runs like you - very homosexually.
I think that is a good idea even though i have most of the games that i wanted already downloaded...this will also help to slow down the use of bandwidth...

*Agrees* I've seen many sites have problems like that. They set a limit (even low ones), get a bunch of SPAM (those rotten bastards) and then leech Roms/Isos like there is no tomorrow. CW has both GBA & DS Rom links but you have to reach a certain limit in posts to get to them and I watch over them like a hawk. We haven't had any problems since I got them up.
