this list shows all known file extentions (the .xxx part of a file) and what to use them with to burn or mount them. to easily find the extention you want, push CTRL + F and type in the file extention.
.iso - practically any program supports this. Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, PowerIso, MagicIso, among others are good programs for it. .mds/.mdf - these are file extentions for Alcohol 120%. .rar - WinRAR. it's a type of archive. .zip - alot can use this. WinRAR, WinZip, WinAce, and 7-Zip are the common programs for it. .r01/.r02/etc. - these are multi-part WinRAR files. all you need to do is extract part 1(.r01) in WinRAR, and it will automatically use the rest for you. after part 1 is extracted, that's all you need to do with it to get the iso .part01.rar/.part02.rar/etc see the above .r01/.r02/etc. extention, it's the same thing .001/.002/etc - these are either WinRAR or 7-Zip files. it is impossible to tell which without trying. i recomend trying 7-Zip first, as it normally is the correct choice. extract part 1 and it will auto get the rest .daa - PowerISO is the only program that can open these .bin - these are supported by many types, some require a .cue file to work however. Daemon Tools can open these without a .cue file however. can also be a Sega Genesis or Master System rom file. .cue - a supporter for .bin or .img files. this is the actual file used to load .bin or .img file in many programs .img - see .bin above .bwt/.b6t - these are BlindWrite files, but the latest version of Daemon Tools can also use them .ccd - CloneCD file opener to use .bin or .img files .sub - if this is included, ignore it and open the provided .cue file, or use Daemon Tools to mount the .bin or .img file .dvd - a layerbreak for Dual-Layer isos for use when burning CloneCD. if this is provided, open it from CloneCD and it'll automatically load the correct iso for you, which can be many extentions .ace - a type of archive. WinAce is the best for this type. .nzb - see this link. you must be signed in to view it .7z - a archive type. 7-Zip opens it .z64 - a n64 rom. Project 64 and 1964 are the best n64 emulators imo .smc - a snes rom. Zsnes and Snes9x are the most common emulators, but i recomend Zsnes .nes - a NES rom. there are too many nes emulators to count, one of the best being FCE Ultra .gba - a Gameboy Advance Rom. i recomend VisualBoy Advance for a emulator .n64 - see .z64 above .v64 - see .z64 above .swc - see .smc above .gbc - a Gameboy Color rom. Visualboy Advance is the best choice here .gb - a Gameboy rom. again, Visualboy Advance is by far the best choice .smd - a Genesis or Master System rom file. i recomend using Gens for it .ngp - NeoGeo Pocket rom. Koyote is the best emulator, though it's not perfect .pce - TurboGrafix-16 rom. Hu-Go! is the best emualtor, though not full speed .ws - Wonderswan rom. Oswan is the best emulator .gen - see .smd above
